Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra's 200 megapixel camera: best camera performance
Appliance leaks come in all shapes and sizes. Yesterday's Galaxy S23 design leak was pretty extensive and it may be a while before more details about the Galaxy S23 series emerge online.
A GalaxyClub colleague recently confirmed through a source that the Galaxy S23 Ultra will feature his 200MP main camera. If you've been following our news feed, you know that rumors about the Galaxy S23 Ultra's 200MP camera are nothing new. However, we now have confirmation that Samsung is indeed planning to use a 200-megapixel sensor for its next-generation premium flagship.
This is a relatively fruitless endeavor, so Samsung has never rushed to increase the resolution of its mobile cameras. High-resolution sensors give manufacturers the right to claim, but guarantee higher quality images. It is not intended to Software and AI-driven image processing cost far more than increasing pixel count these days, so there's always been the question of whether Samsung's next flagship will boost camera resolution.
As for the Galaxy S23 Ultra, the answer seems to be yes, but not uniformly. The flagship will have a 200-megapixel primary camera, while other sensors, such as a 10-megapixel 10x optical telephoto camera, will retain the same resolution. Of course, we'll have to wait and see how these specs translate to real-world usage scenarios. As we saw when comparing the Galaxy Z Flip 4 to the Galaxy S22, Samsung has delivered surprisingly good results through its software can be issued.
