Let's 'walk' above the waves in Beypore
Beypore Once you reach Pulimuttu, a beach resort in Beypore, you can walk over the waves and into the sea. The District Tourism Promotion Council and the Beypore Port Authority have taken the initiative to promote the adventure tourism in the state by launching the first ever floating bridge in Beypore from today. The bridge is located near the Beypore Pulimuttu tourist destination and can be reached on foot for about 100 meters.
The bridge was built by the Chalakudy based expatriate community Capture Days Adventure Tourism and Water Sports. Admission is from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The entrance fee is Rs 100. Safety boats and life jackets as well as the services of lifeguards and fishermen are being used as part of the preparation of antiquated safety arrangements. The bridge is secured with an anchor weighing 300 kg.
The fiberglass bridge is locked and stacked with interlocking blocks that are designed to travel above sea level. At the end of the path, which is three meters wide and has handrails on both sides, there is an 11 meter long and seven meter wide site seeing platform. From this one can experience the marine habitat and the phenomena of the waves. Children under the age of five, the elderly, the disabled and drug addicts will not be allowed to enter, the sources said.
