Review

After Xiaomi first launched the Poco F1 smartphone in India, the Poco brand now works independently. This smartphone offers powerful hardware at a very competitive price and attracts a large number of buyers. Since then, the Poco brand has launched several series to cater for different price segments, but the original Poco F1 has never had a successor in India. Little F3 or Redmi K40, which is well known in some other markets, is now called Mi 11X here. Now, almost three years after the launch of F1, Poco has finally added another smartphone to the F series, which is called the Poco F3 GT.

This new smartphone looks like an upgraded version of the renowned Redmi K40 game launched in China earlier this year. It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 processor, just like the recently launched OnePlus Nord 2, but it also has a magnetic fire button to attract gamers. So is the Poco F3 GT just a niche phone or will it become the next value champion? I spent time on Poco F3 GT and this is my first impression.

Storage and Price

The Poco F3 GT starts at Rs. The basic version in India is 26,999, with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage space. Poco also offers an F3 GT with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage space for Rs. 28,999 or 8GB RAM, 256GB storage space is Rs. 30,999.

Camera and Display

Poco F3 GT is an excellent smartphone with a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen. It has full HD resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10 support. There are thin bezels around the screen, which makes it look beautiful. Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protects on the front and back. In the middle of the top is the hole for the 16 megapixel selfie camera. The aspect ratio of this smartphone is so high that it is difficult to reach the top of the screen with one hand.

When lifting the Poco F3 GT, you will notice that it is relatively wide, but due to its rounded sides, holding it is not a problem. The smartphone frame is made of metal with different design elements: the sides are curved but the four corners are flat to make it easier to rest your fingers while watching content or playing games. The top and bottom of the frame have concave curves, which also helps grip during play. The phone weighs 205 grams and is 8.3 mm thick.

Poco F3 GT has a glass rear cover, which gives it a premium look and feel. It has a three-camera module in the upper left corner, consisting of a 64-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. The module also has RGB lights, which light up when Game Boost is enabled and the device is charging. The back of the Predator Black device that I carry with me has a matte finish, which doesn't leave a lot of fingerprints. Poco also makes the F3 GT IP53 dust and water resistant so it can withstand frequently used splashes of water.

Poco F3 GT is equipped with a large 5,065 mAh battery. Poco's box includes a 67W charger, which is one of the highest capacity chargers available at this price. I will test the loading speed during the full review. You can also get a bright yellow USB data cable with a 90-degree USB TypeC connector, allowing you to easily keep your smartphone plugged in while playing games-this is a wise addition.

Storage

Little chose the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 processor for the F3 GT, and there are 6GB, 8GB and 12GB RAM options. In terms of storage, you can choose between 128GB and 256GB. It has two NanoSIM slots and cannot expand storage.
